Derek Crow was born in Strood, Kent 1928. He studied painting and drawing first at the Medway School of Art, then at the Royal College of Art in London between 1945 & 1952. He exhibited regularly in London through out the fifties and sixties at the Royal Academy, the R.B.A., and the R.I., and also in touring exhibitions in the provinces.
An important commission for the National Film Theatre was completed during this time. He has held many "one man shows" and mixed shows since then. His paintings hang in public and private collections in fourteen different countries and many articles have appeared on his work at both home and abroad. He lives and paints in Essex.
